Light Writing
I've really come to love Light Writing photographs, as it's a fun and creative interaction between the photographer, the painter, the light source, and the subjects.
Lighting tricks were one of the earliest types of "special effects", so it's awesome that digital SLRs allow us to quickly experiment and iterate through whimsical ideas with little cost. I also find it to be a very cool scientific process, and see it in my head as as a mathematical integration of light. I love how long exposure photographs both bring out the natural lighting of the scene and enhance the color temperature and hue of the light source.
